Toronto Physiotherapist Looks to Conquer Ultimate Goal in Midnight Sun Run, Iceland

in Press Releases

The Suzuki Midnight Sun Run takes place on the evening of June 24th –  just after June 21st, the longest day of the year when the shines throughout the night.  The race begins between 21:00 and 22:00 and features three distances:  half-marathon, 10k race and a 5k race.   The run is celebrating its 21st anniversary, though this will be only the second time the half-marathon distance is being run.

One of the featured participants is Toronto’s own Mark MacGibbon.  Mark will be participating in the half-marathon after winning ‘Milk 2 Go’s Sports Ultimate Goal’ competition.  Mark chose his ‘Ultimate Goal’ at a Milk 2 Go booth while attending the Toronto Goodlife Marathon Expo in 2012.  “This goal,” Mark explained, “unites my love of sports and travel.”  So, with a little help from his friends, Mark went on to win the Facebook phase of the competition and is now on his way to Iceland to participate in this unique competition.  Originally from Australia, Mark now calls Toronto home.  He and his wife are both avid runners and train regularly together. Mark works as a Physiotherapist at Ace Physio, a downtown Toronto Physiotherapy Clinic.
