NEC Bolsters its Lineup with an HDBaseT-Enabled OPS Module for its Large Screen Displays and Integrated Input for its Installation Projectors

AMSTERDAM – ISE 2014 – February 4, 2014 – NEC Display Solutions Europe, a leading provider of LCD display and projector solutions, today at the ISE 2014 event announce its new line of HDBaseT options for commercial HD displays (via OPS (Option Slots) and HDBaseT-enabled projectors. New NEC displays and projectors will be on display at the HDBaseT Alliance booth: Hall 7-C190.

Almost all of NEC’s Large Format Displays and the majority of the Installation Projector series support HDBaseT. In some cases these devices have a built in HDBaseT receiver, in other cases it is available via the Option Pluggable Specification (OPS) Slots.

“As the awareness and adoption of HDBaseT has risen among A/V professionals, we have seen a corresponding rise in demand from our customers for an HDBaseT-enabled display,” said Thomas Walter, Product Manager, Public Display Solutions at NEC Display Solutions Europe.  “HDBaseT has become a global standard for digital connectivity, and integrating the technology into our new display will help our customers realize significant cost-savings.”

The OPS modules provide high flexibility as they can get easily exchanged, upgraded, maintained according to the individual customers demand. With no cables required due to internal connection for power, video, audio and control, the option board fits neatly within the display or projector profile for a more elegant installation. Integrating the NEC HDBaseT-Receiver in the OPS form factor into a broad range of devices makes them instantly became compatible with HDBaseT.

An example is the NEC P553, a 55-inch professional display that sets the standard for rugged 24/7 use in the harshest installation environments. In this case, the LED backlighting technology improves power consumption and allows for a slimmer cabinet depth, while the use of an HDBaseT receiver means the whole display requires just two cables.

Similarly, the new PA Series range of installation projectors will be equipped with an HDBaseT receiver amongst the rich set of features. The new optional HDBaseT Slot-in model as well as the new projectors featuring the integrated receiver will be available in Spring 2014.

The NEC PA672W is the latest professional installation projector in the PA Series lineup equipped with the necessary feature set such as interchangeable lenses, horizontal & vertical lens shift and top of the line video processor required for boardrooms and classrooms. With a brightness of 6700 lumens and HD capabilities the PA672W appeases corporate and higher education user needs.

“Considering NEC joined the HDBaseT Alliance less than a year ago, the fact it is already producing HDBaseT-enabled displays is remarkable and demonstrates the company’s strong commitment to the technology,” said Micha Risling, marketing chair of the HDBaseT Alliance. “The NEC line HDBaseT options is the latest addition to an ever-growing HDBaseT ecosystem of TVs, projectors, A/V receivers for commercial and consumer applications.”

ISE 2014 attendees can see the new NEC P553 display and PA672W projector at the Alliance’s booth: Hall 7-C190.
