Endeavor Network Convenes in San Francisco Bay Area for Entrepreneur Summit

PRESS RELEASE- San Francisco (June 17, 2013)- Over 400 members of the Endeavor network are expected to be in San Francisco June 19 – 21 for Endeavor’s 5th Endeavor Entrepreneur Summit.  The Summit brings together entrepreneurs from Endeavor’s 15 country affiliates (located throughout Latin America and the Middle East plus South Africa, Indonesia and Greece) together with influential members of Endeavor’s Bay Area network, many of whom donate countless hours to mentor these entrepreneurs and help scale their businesses.  This two and a half day event provides a mix of keynotes from prominent Bay Area business leaders, workshops on everything from customer service to design thinking and HR by experts from Bain, GE and SAP, and lots of networking opportunities. 

 Highlights of the event include:

  • Keynotes and Fireside Chats by Endeavor network members including Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, John Donahoe and Ben Horowitz.
  • An Investor Network morning session (June 19) where local venture capitalists will have a chance to meet approx. 24 Endeavor Entrepreneurs who are currently seeking to raise capital.
  • Global Connections afternoon sessions (June 20) which will match over 125 entrepreneurs with Bay Area mentors drawn from the venture capital and tech communities. Jive Software is providing all participants with access to an Endeavor community app so that participants can remain in touch post-Summit.
  • An Awards Night dinner (June 20), hosted by the Omidyar Network, that will recognize some of the most exceptional Endeavor Entrepreneurs and their achievements in job creation, revenue growth and social impact.

Endeavor focuses on selecting and supporting high-impact entrepreneurs and providing them with unparalleled mentoring networks and talent programs (including a bespoke one-week executive education course developed with the Stanford GSB). Entrepreneurs are selected based on their potential to achieve outsized growth and job creation. 

About 150 entrepreneurs from 15 countries will be present representing  many different types of businesses with amazing stories.  Selected entrepreneurs attending the Summit include:

  • Bento Koike, a Brazilian entrepreneur whose business, Tecsis, is the #2 worldwide manufacturer of wind turbine blades.
  • Sidar Sahin, whose Turkish company, Peak Games, is the third largest game platform on Facebook.
  • Nicolas Cock Duque, whose Colombian company, Ecoflora, is a leading producer of biotech inputs and natural agricultural products.
  • Mois Cherem, whose Mexican company, Enova, is a leader in education centers for over 100,000 school-aged children in Mexico.
  • Martin Migoya, whose Argentine company, Globant, provides software design services to global leaders including Google and Electronic Arts.
  • Phaedra Chrousos, whose Greek company, Daily Secret, publishes custom curated emails with “insider” tips on eating, drinking and entertainment for tens of thousands of subscribers in over 30 cities in 20 countries.

Endeavor recently chose its 800th entrepreneur (and 500th company). Together these entrepreneurs demonstrate amazing results including employing over 225,000 people and generating combined revenues of over $6 billion in 2012.
