Compassionate Doctor Recognition given to local Carlsbad Pain Doctor

Vitals.com recognizes Dr. Yogesh Patel with Compassionate doctor award and Patients Choice Award

Dr. Yogesh Patel who also goes by the name “Dr. Yogi” has been awarded the compassionate doctor recognition award by Vitals.com for 2011 and 2012, an internet site where patients can review their physicians. Dr. Yogi has maintained high ratings (4 out of 4) which has also resulted in winning the patients choice awards for the past 3 years.  In addition, he was also awarded Top Physicians award for 2012. He has made appearances in the local Newspaper, magazine, and has even been on the News for his outstanding performance as a physician and to share his insight on Pain Medicine.

What is Dr. Yogi’s secret to success? He is a big advocate of an integrated plan in which he focuses on functional improvement rather than just a reduction in pain scores.  “The key to any successful treatment plan is an accurate diagnosis, followed by a well-structured treatment plan tailored to that diagnosis,” he states. Dr. Yogi believes it is important to include other modalities than just medications, such as interventional injections, physical therapy, life style modifications, chiropractic and acupuncture treatments, which he currently offers these modalities within his clinic.

Dr. Yogi has not only been extremely attentive to his patients he has also been proactive in patient education and prevention.  After joining the Coastal Pain and Spinal Diagnostics Medical Group in La Costa Carlsbad he immediately began developing Pain Tools and a Opioid Safety course for patients.  Pain Tools is a website based education program provided free to his patients and to the public.  The tutorials educate patients on pain and pain prevention. The Opioid Safety course is taken by patients online to educate patients about the safe use of these medications.

“There are different types of prevention, prevention of the injury itself and preventing  the injury from getting worse.  I want to help my patient’s educate and empower themselves,” said Dr. Yogi.  He also wants to raise the awareness about what Pain Management doctors do and how to optimize caring for this subgroup of patients.  “This is a specialty that most of the public is unaware of, I want to change that so that patients know all their options when it comes to managing their pain,” Dr. Yogi.

Dr. Yogesh “Yogi” Patel is a very enthusiastic and proactive doctor.  For more information or to access Pain Tools please visit DrYogiMD.com or call   760-753-7127 OR 1877-7-YOGIMD
